Korean mountaineer and explorer Hong Sung Taek is renowned for having reached the "Five Poles" – i.e., the North and South Poles, Greenland, Everest, and the Bering Strait. He walked to the North Pole, skied to the South one, took a dog sled across Greenland, walked across the Bering Strait and, of course, climbed Everest.
