Most famously worn by Sherlock Holmes, this type of hat has become synonymous with detectives, particularly in humorous drawings and comics. What is it?
Answer Deerstalker
The so-called Deerstalker hat is commonly constructed of cloth or tweed, and often consists of six triangular panels with rounded sides which are sewn together. For obvious reasons, the cap is also sometimes called a "fore-and-aft" cap, and Sherlock Holmes is by far the most famous person (albeit fictional) to wear the cap.
