Let's face it - Bob Dylan is a genius, smart enough to take on a pseudonym to help lift his career in the music biz. What is his real birth name?
Answer Robert Zimmerman
Robert Allen Zimmerman was born in 1941 in Minnesota. He changed his name to Dylan around the time that he was in Sigma Alpha Mu at the University of Minnesota because he thought it had a nice ring to it, Originally he spelled it Dillon, but when he saw poems by Dylan Thomas, he liked that spelling better.
