The nearly forgotten dramedy Eight is Enough was a major network hit during its five-season run from the late seventies to early eighties. The sitcom focused on a widower newspaperman and his extremely precocious gang of teenaged children. While a family show (brought to us by The Waltons producers, no less), storylines often included underage experimentation with drugs and alcohol.
