While a circuit tripper halts the flow of electricity when too many appliances are going at once, it doesn't require replacing anything. A blown fuse, however, does. How can you tell the difference? A circuit breaker's switch will have flipped from the "on" to the "off" position, while a blown fuse will discolor the glass window or melt the metal inside the fuse.
