Answer Yes. You may have to fend off zombies and human attackers.
Another rule of surviving a zombie apocalypse is being able to eliminate them effectively with weapons. Guns and rifles are a huge help, and if you are proficient enough to behead them with a sword in one stroke should you have to get that close, that increases your chances of living too.
