The Velvet Underground's song "Rock and Roll" was recorded in 1969, during their final weeks with the Verve label, but the well-known version appears on their 1970 album Loaded. The website Songfacts.com describes the song: "It's done loose and lazy, perfect for the subject, but subtly averting it at the same time."
