A Northwest version of California's Silicon Valley, Silicon Forest refers to the concentration of tech companies in the Portland, Oregon metro area — particularly the cities of Beaverton and Hillsboro in Washington County. These companies are mostly in hardware, such as test-and-measurement equipment (Tektronix), computer chips (Intel and an array of smaller chip manufacturers), electronic displays (InFocus, Planar Systems, and Pixelworks), and printers (Hewlett-Packard Co, Xerox, and Epson). While Intel's HQ remains in California, its Hillsboro campus is now the company's largest hub.
