In Aztec mythology, a crocodile represented the earth as it floated in primordial seas. What’s the name of that crocodile?
Answer Cipactli
Cipactli was regarded as the first diviner in Aztec mythology. According to the myth, it saved itself in a canoe and repopulated the world. It was part crocodile, part fish, and part frog whose gender was undetermined. Always hungry, it had an additional mouth on every joint in its body. Together with Quetzalcoatl, it fashioned the Earth from its body.
