King's Day – or Koningsdag in Dutch – celebrates the birth of King Willem-Alexander in the Netherlands. Observed since 1885 (although, then it was called Princess's Day for Princess Wilhelmina), King's Day is bathed in "orange madness," the country's national color, and includes a nationwide "free market," in which second-hand items are sold.
