How should you definitely NOT rest a plane blade when not in use?

Some people think that resting it on its blade is best because it will protect the freshly honed iron. Others think that you should place it on its side so that you don't scuff up your workbench. Either way, you definitely shouldn't put it in a bucket of water, because that can cause it to rust and will make it much harder when you actually want to use it.
