When you see it from above, Diamond Head looks more like a traditional volcanic crater. From ground level, it juts out over Waikiki Beach. Hawaiians call it Lēʻahi, most likely derived from lae plus ʻahi because the shape reminds them of a tuna's dorsal fin.
