Giardia, a water born parasite, is an extremely dangerous concern in terms of water consumption. True or False?

The reality is, you will die much quicker from dehydration than you ever will from Giardia. In fact, you won't even know you have it for at least a week and then if you are rescued you can take a few pills to cure it. I have always found the giardia warnings to be way overblown when people are adventuring into the wilderness. That said, it can be tough on seniors or people who are already sick.
