Enter Yogi and Paddington. In which country do they dress as bears to carol for the new year?

Answer Romania

You've heard of "dancing with wolves," but how about "dancing with bears"? Romania's custom of the Bear Dance – aka Ursul – involves just that. Don't worry though; while real live bears were used in the past, today, more often than not, carolers just dress like them in real bearskins. According to some, the origins of the dance began when Roma (local Gypsies) arrived in town to sell bear back massages (bear cubs walking up and down the backs of townspeople) and bear entertainment (older bears, made to jump on hot metal plates in "dance").
