During the Third Quarter Quell, what killed Mags Flanagan?

During the second day of the Quarter Quell, a brutal acidic fog was released on parts of the game arena, killing any who got caught inits silent wake. One such unfortunate victim was Mags Flanagan, the victor of the 11th Hunger Games. At age 80, she was the oldest tribute in the Quarter Quell, and though Finnick tried to carry her to safety, she sacrificed herself so the fog wouldn't get the both of them.
