Marie Curie was born in Poland in 1867 and spent her formidable years there before heading to Paris in 1891 to follow her sister elder sister Bronisława. In Paris, she earned a higher degree and then met a her husband, Pierre, who was a physicist. Together, the two would make scientific breakthroughs which made her the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in Physics.
