Despite its image as a heavyweight luxury brand, the Bentley does have a significant racing heritage. Pictured here, which Bentley model was the first to achieve racing success?

Answer Bentley 4 1/2 Litre "Blower"

Bentley's second production chassis, the 4 1/2 Litre was an improved version of the 3 Litre that featured — as the name suggests — an enlarged inline-four engine. The 4 1/2 Litre gained widespread recognition when Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, a race car driver and one of the "Bentley Boys," fitted his car with a supercharger (or "blower") and entered into the 24 Hours of LeMans endurance race. Incidentally, he won.
