Christmas is fast approaching, and so is creepy Krampus Night, celebrated in this region.
Answer Central Europe
Those of you who've enjoyed a Santa Claus-themed Christmas have been missing out on Krampus. Krampusnacht, celebrated in Central Europe on December 5, the eve of the Feast of St. Nicholas, involves an evil demon with stag horns, fur, and eyes made of flaming coal, who is said to abduct children in a bag for a midnight snack. During the feast, Santa does appear, handing out gifts, but so does Krampus, handing out beatings with birch branches along with his very own coal. Talk about a nightmare before Christmas!
