Can you name this Dominican-American slugger?
Answer Alex Rodriguez
The child of Dominican immigrants, baseball legend Alex Rodriguez was born in New York City. The family later relocated to Miami, where A-Rod attended Westminster Christian School, a small private high school in suburban Palmetto Bay. By the time he graduated in 1993, Rodriguez was the top prospect in the country for the amateur draft. During his senior year, he was awarded first team high school All-American, USA Baseball Junior Player of the Year and Gatorade's National Baseball Player of the Year. That same year, Rodriguez became the first high school player to ever try out for the United States national baseball team. He skipped college to join the Seattle Mariners and went on to become the highest paid player in baseball history.
