Can you identify this British-born superstar of the silent screen?

Answer Charlie Chaplin

From grim beginnings in Victorian London to Hollywood silent screen superstardom, Charlie Chaplin led an epic life. Mostly featuring his beloved Little Tramp character, Chaplin's masterpieces include 'The Gold Rush', 'City Lights', and 'Modern Times'. Given his unparalleled success in silent film, it's not surprising that Chaplin didn't jump on the talkies bandwagon when sound was introduced in the late 1920s. Chaplin stuck with his silent medium until 1940's 'The Great Dictator', released thirteen years after the first talking picture, 1927's 'The Jazz Singer', and long after the rest of the industry had left silents behind. Chaplin was also remarkably consistent in romantic pursuits: his preference for very young women spanned from his 1918 marriage to 16-year-old actress Mildred Harris to his 1924 marriage to another 16-year-old actress, Lita Grey (whom he'd employed at age 12 and impregnated at age 15), and all the way up to his marriage at age 54 to 18-year-old Oona O'Neill.
