Born the daughter of Russian immigrants, Natalia took the stage name of Natalie Wood for her American career. She began as a child actor and was adored for her cute, street-smart, freckle-faced characters. Wood grew up to be smart and intuitive and often took difficult and tumultuous roles, landing her three Academy Awards for the movies Love with the Proper Stranger, Splendor in the Grass, and Rebel Without a Cause. Wood was married to actor Robert Wagner.
