In addition to gin, lemon juice, and sugar, what else does the French 75 cocktail contain?
Answer Champagne
The French 75 drink is a combination of gin, champagne, lemon juice, and sugar. The cocktail goes all the way back to World War I, when bartender Harry MacElhone developed an early version in 1915 at the New York Bar in Paris. The combination was reported to have been so potent that drinking it felt like being shelled by a powerful French 75mm field gun, hence its name.
