Before recording his own more popular version in 1973, who wrote "Rock 'n Roll Hoochie Koo" for Johnny Winter 3 years earlier?

Answer Rick Derringer

When he recorded the song in 1970, Johnny Winters said: "I didn't think 'Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo' would do as well as it did 'cause it was a little corny. Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo. You don't ever know." Derringer's own version in 1973 did better, peaking at number 23.
