Back on the subject of mountains, this country possesses the highest paved road in Europe on the Pico del Veleta in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The Veleta, which is 11,135 feet high and means "weather vane" in Spanish has a road which takes people about 10 meters below the summit of the mountain.
