Atahualpa, the victorious brother, was captured by the Spaniards and promised enormous amounts of what in return for his freedom. Despite this, he was eventually executed.

Answer Gold and silver

Atahualpa promised gold and silver to the Spaniards, believing they would depart after they had received their ransom. They did not, and instead killed Atahualpa and continued extracting treasure. Much of this was melted down art and statues, which destroyed a significant amount of Incan art and culture.
