The Y2K Scare was not all that scary. But the buildup to it was. Tech experts thought a glitch might cause computers to crash as the millennium turned. This was because computer engineers represented years in two-digit codes, rather than four, in order to save on storage. Businesses and governments spent millions to prevent the Millennium Bug, and as it would turn out, it worked.
