Arts & Literature: With works including "The Ten Largest" and "Svanen," who was history's first abstract artist?
Answer Hilma af Klint
For the longest time, Kandinsky was believed to be the forefather of abstract art, but in 1986, it was discovered that the style had a foremother: Hilma af Klint. The Swedish artist created abstract artworks as early as 1905 and was presented in a Los Angeles exhibition called “The Spiritual in Art: Abstract Painting 1890-1985."
