Aristotle must have been a genius because we're still talking about him 2400 years later. Why are his teachings often referred to as "peripatetic"?
Answer Because of the walkways where he taught
In the Greek language, "peripatetic" means "of walking" or "given to walking about". The school that Aristotle founded was simply known as the "Peripatos" because its members met in walkways at the Lyceum to learn and discuss theory. Some historians believe that Aristotle would also walk around while teaching, which reinforces the origin story of the name.
