Arc welding electrodes are numbered (e.g. E 60 1 10). What do these numbers denote?

Answer Tensile Strength, Position, Type of Coating & Current

Arc welding electrodes are coded to denote the specifications of the electrodes. In our example, the first two digits (60) would stand for the tensile strength of the electrode, while the next digit (1) indicates the position and the last two (10) indicate the type of coating and welding current.
