Amazingly, Barack Obama is the first sitting president to ever visit this National Park, located on Mount Desert Island. Name this pristine park where the Obama family stayed during the summer of 2010.

Acadia was made a National Park in 1919, and went almost 100 years without a sitting president making a trip there. President Taft did visit Mount Desert Island in 1910, which was 9 years before it became an official national park. Chester Arthur and Benjamin Harrison also took a trip up there in the pre-Acadia days.
