Although she's known as the "Queen of Egypt," Cleopatra was actually not Egyptian, but what nationality?
Answer Greek
Cleopatra was the descendant of Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian Greek general of Alexander the Great. When Alex died, Ptolemy took over in Egypt, and his rule resulted in a Greek dynasty that stood for three centuries. His descendent, Cleopatra, would later go on to fight with her siblings (and murder a number of them) over the throne – a fight which ultimately ended in her suicide by snakebite.
