Although considered as one of the lesser Studio Ghibli films, Tales from Earthsea still has beautiful imagery. The film's story is derived from six-book series of fantasy novels written by Ursula K. Le Guin. Do you know who directed Tales from Earthsea?
Answer Goro Miyazaki
Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli requested the rights from Le Guin in 1984, but she refused them. When she watched My Neighbor Totoro she fell in love with them and gave them the rights to produce the film. Unfortunately, at that time, Miyazaki was busy making Howl's Moving Castle, and his son, Goro, assumed control of the film adaptation of Tales from Earthsea.
