According to Exodus 22, what did a person need to do if an animal he was "animal-sitting" died while on his watch?
Answer Nothing, as long as he wasn't responsible for the death
Apparently this was a thing back then: animals dying while another person watched them. Either way, it's awkward when a dog dies while you are dog-sitting. The Bible says if it's not your fault, then you can't be punished.
