A special part of New York City, Strawberry Fields is announced by this modest sign off of 72nd Street. It was dedicated on October 9, 1985, John Lennon's birthday, by what NYC mayor?

Answer Ed Koch

The 2.5 acre Strawberry Fields memorial to John Lennon was designed by Bruce Kelly, the chief landscape architect for the Central Park Conservancy. Construction on the project started in April 1984 and was dedicated on what would have been Lennon's 45th birthday by Koch and Yoko Ono.
