Some scholars believe 1 Thessalonians was the first letter Paul wrote, around AD 50, and 2 Thessalonians around AD 51. Paul would have written this letter from Corinth where he was starting another church and would soon write two letters to them too.
Paul visited the city of Thessalonica during his second missionary trip. Through this first letter, he hoped to address some questions the church faced, and then he wrote a second letter to go deeper into other areas.
