These questions center on the announcement and birth of Jesus found in the first and second books of Matthew and Luke.
The birth of Jesus Christ was a highly prophesied event missed by many when it happened. Yes, the Jews were waiting for a Messiah to be born, a person, given by God, to help save them from their situation, but nobody knew exactly when, how and who. Many felt God would save them from their oppression by the cruel Romans, just as God saved them through Moses from the Egyptians.
When Jesus was born, it took many by surprise because the baby wasn't what they expected. Birthed in such humble surroundings, it was God himself, one member of the Trinity, entering earth through a poor family in a dirty barn. The event caught the attention of many, from a jealous king, to blue-collar shepherds, all the way to wealthy scholars in a far off land.
This baby didn't come to save the Jews from the Romans, but from the enemy who oppresses all people within. This quiz tests your knowledge of these events and the first two books of the Bible - Matthew and Luke. See how much you know about the Birth of Christ!
