Pilots have a lot on their plate. Not only do they control and navigate the flight, but they must pre-flight hydraulic and engine systems, while overseeing aircraft systems and fuel consumption while the aircraft is in flight. Being as such, there are many requirements one must meet before obtaining a pilot license.
While physical and mental health are of course major criteria, as pilots regularly deal with fatigue, jet lag, and bad weather in flight, there are other necessities too. First of all, you might consider obtaining a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, aviation, or aircraft operations, as such a degree would give you a working knowledge of your craft...and an edge when it comes to your job search. Ground training takes two months, while over 1,500 hours of flight-time must be logged before you're certified.
Do you know enough about piloting to ace this quiz? Put your knowledge to the test and soon you'll be soaring!
