One-hit wonders . . . Oh, how we love to mock them. But at the same time, we hold a special affection for these artists and the songs that mark certain points in our lives (even if they irritated the hell out of us at the time). On the other end there are bands who curse the day they compromised their authenticity by giving in to the "I don't hear a hit" complaints from their record label.
