Go Marry a Prostitute? God's Command to the Prophet Hosea is One for the Books.

God didn't like the direction the Jews were going in their relationship with God. So, he sent the prophet Hosea to go marry a prostitute and ask, "How does it feel when the prostitute commits adultery against you. THAT'S HOW I FEEL!" The prophet Hosea expressed that pain to the people.

God's method was unusual but his point was not missed. Seeking out other gods hurts God, like a wife sleeping around with other people.

While not a beautiful love story like Esther or Ruth, Hosea packs a powerful punch and its message was so good, the book got first place in the list of minor prophets.
