Taking a guess, you head in one direction, but when base camp doesn't appear after three hours of hiking through the snow, you realize that you've just traveled further away from safety and shelter. Yes, you're lost out in the arctic and without a viable way of communicating with base camp. The good news is that you have some supplies.
